Shop Foreman Job Summary

GSD Precision Ag is seeking a diligent shop foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Grafton Location In this role, you will supervise all personnel, oversee the management and maintenance of equipment, and ensure the efficiency of operations.

To ensure success as a shop foreman, you should be highly organized and have excellent communication skills, and have knowledge of Precision Planting products.

  • Supervising and training staff.

    Creating and managing the staff, maintenance, and work schedules.

    Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.

    Enforcing safety regulations and protocols.

    Conducting performance reviews with staff.

    Meeting with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.

    Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.

    Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.

    Monitoring inventory levels and working with the parts department to stock inventory accordingly

    Performing administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, stock receipts, and staff schedules.

  • Applied Science Degree in precision agronomy or equivalent experience

    Valid driver's license.

    At least one year's experience as a shop foreman or similar preferred

Provide solutions to fill needs identified by customers to include new & used agricultural equipment and associated technology.

  • Working as part of a dedicated service team to provide the best in customer service and satisfaction while maintaining existing client relationships and fostering new clientele opportunities.

    Specifically,

    • Provide in-season technology support.

    • Maintain current knowledge of agronomy and common agricultural planting, tillage, and harvesting techniques utilized in the region, and make recommendations to improve customer operations by utilizing existing and new technology.

    • Provide technician support on precision products and support.

    • Provide technician support on planters.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Regular attendance is an essential function.

    1. High School Diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in Ag Mechanics/ Technician or equivalent.

Parts Manager Job Summary

GSD Precision Ag is seeking a Parts Department Manager for the Grafton Area. This individual is responsible for all aspects of customer support, shipping and receiving of orders, inventory management and other duties as required. The Parts Department Manager will be required to attend training events to keep up with the latest technology. This position is an office-based position with some travel required to attend training events, customer/field support. This position will assist with Technical Support in season.

  • Pricing parts to maintain profitability

    Monitoring the current parts inventory

    Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels

    Manage recommended dealer stocking parts list

    Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them

    Helping customers find and purchase the correct parts

    Enter parts orders as needed to support customer and sales team requirements.

    Pick, pack and ship parts orders as required on time.

    Take incoming sales related calls, assisting the customer in purchase of products.

Account Manager Job Summary

GSD Precision Ag is seeking several Account Mangers in the Grafton, ND area to market precision equipment promoting sustainable business growth and profitability.

  • Promote sales of all precision equipment supported by Precision Planting, and others.

    Help service existing Precision Planting equipment sold to growers including updates, adjustments, or malfunctions.

    Develops and implements marketing plans and sales strategies that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.

    Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques. Emphasis of appropriate features and benefits of products, and utilizing CRM software

    Develops competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.

    Develop a strong relationship with the Crop Specialists to further enhance our ability to improve grower profitability

    Follow up on customer complaints, and seek a reasonable resolution.

    Promote the use of the company's programs as a sales tool and help provide the required information to establish credit. Works closely with the parts department

  • Cultivate and maintain strong business relationships with Precision Planting, and other manufacturer reps.

    Maintain strong working relationships with Growers

    Stay current with new innovations and offerings within precision equipment and information management. Attend industry meetings as needed.

    Attend new product training for all supported brands.

    Prompt and accurate billing of all precision equipment sales and service

    Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards. Adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.

    Attend Crop Specialist meetings and training programs.

  • Education and Experience

    1. A college degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business related discipline is preferred but not required. Sales/marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.

    Functional/Language Skills

    1. Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical and software issues related to equipment

    2. The ability to read installation instructions and repair manuals to solve issues pertaining to equipment sold and serviced by Southern FS.

    3. The ability to speak effectively before groups of growers.

    4. Understanding of precision equipment along with sales ability/persuasiveness, face-to-face selling skills, assertiveness, tenacity/persistence, resilience, competitive adeptness, and product proficiency.
